I owe a deep debt of gratitude to Gail Meehan for helping my family during the height of the corona virus outbreak in Massachusetts. When my 87-year-old mom fell and broke her hip, Gail was there to help us navigate the world of nursing and rehabilitation facilities in the Boston area. She was instrumental in getting my mother into one of the highest rated five-star nursing homes in the country, Elizabeth Seton Residence in Wellesley, Mass. Although this excellent facility did their best, Covid 19 broke out and my mother got the virus. Gail helped us every step of the way to make sure my mother got the absolute best of care. She guided us through these very dark days when family are not allowed to visit. Things like what questions to ask, what services are available, made all the difference. As my mother is an artist, she made a piece of art for every day she was there, 40 drawings in 40 days. There were days when she could barely hold a pencil to paper, and things were very scary. Gail gave us her continuous support, expertise, genuine concern, and friendship in our time of need. I am happy to report my mother is now home and recovering, with a great ‘Covid 19” art show to share with the world! Thank you, Gail!

I was introduced to Gail and AgeWise Advisors by a personal friend who saw my need for help with my elderly mother's care. Despite living in California, Gail and I were able to work via phone and Skype for two years in managing care for my mother until she passed this May.
As Gail rightfully warned me early on, although my family dynamics were not unique, managing my mother's care and organizing services would be a challenge with siblings who had different ideas. Gail gave me invaluable assistance in gaining admission to the best inpatient rehab facility in our area after a second brain surgery for internal bleeding. She knew how to navigate the system, and went to work quickly and aggressively to ensure I received the care I needed. The quality of the facility was excellent, and what I feared would be an unpleasant experience became something bearable and sometimes even enjoyable. After one day, the physician in charge was able to minimize headaches that the doctors in the hospital were unable to control. The PT, OT, and speech and language therapies at the rehab facility were all top notch, and enabled me to regain lost function quickly and to leave the facility sooner than expected. Thanks to the excellent care that I owe to Gail, I am almost back to normal two month post-surgery.

I met Gail while trying to manage my mother’s care, which was becoming increasingly difficult due to her worsening dementia, other chronic illnesses and long distance caregiving. I was spending a great deal of time traveling to my mother’s home in CO from my home in TX. The entire ordeal was very stressful. My initial thought was to move my mother to a nursing facility in Dallas. In discussing this option with Gail, she suggested that providing home care to my mother may be more beneficial at the time. As a result, my mother was able to remain comfortably in her home for two years. As my mother’s condition worsened, we decided it would be a good time to move her close to me. We found a lovely assisted living home in a beautiful community in Dallas where she lives comfortably and is thriving.
Gail has both a professional and personal understanding of the stages of dementia and what works best for people at different stages of the disease. Gail Meehan and AgeWise Advisors were a Godsend. Last year my father, who at the time lived in NYC, suffered a stroke and subsequent setbacks during the year. Unfortunately for all of us it was a very difficult situation made worse by the fact that he had no family nearby, the closest was in London, UK or Portland, OR. Gail was able to help us navigate the murky waters of not only the health industry but the intensely difficult insurance companies. She was instrumental in guiding us in getting the best care possible for our father, who we felt was being pushed out of the hospital before he was anywhere near ready to be released. She dealt with the social workers and health care workers daily managing to take the majority of the burden off of our shoulders, especially as we were not able to be there ourselves.
